About The Faculty of Health Sciences: The Faculty of Health Sciences comprises three schools: - Allied Health - Behavioural and Health Sciences - Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine There are currently approximately 14,000 students (EFTSL) and 520 (FTE) staff in the faculty under the disciplines: occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, exercise science, exercise physiology, nutrition science, biomedical science, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, physiotherapy, psychology and public health. The Faculty is represented across seven ACU campuses. The Faculty's current research priorities focus on Cardiovascular Disease and Metabolism, Health Services Research, Nutrition, Sports Performance and Rehabilitation, Psychology and Mental Health. An expanding portfolio of postgraduate courses is also available in coursework and research. Many postgraduate courses within the Faculty have been developed in conjunction with industries in order to meet specific needs of the professions and industry. Some postgraduate units are offered in flexible learning mode by online study. All students have professional and clinical experience that is supervised by specially qualified practitioners. Responsibilities: Undertake duties associated with the Lecturer-in-Charge role, including attending weekly teaching team meetings with national teaching team and National Lecturer in Charge, maintaining an online learning management system (Canvas), developing tutorial activities (where needed for the local context), supporting the planning and preparation of a one-week simulated placement mid-way through the semester in collaboration with the local professional practice coordinator, delivering 11 weeks of tutorial content (2 hrs per week, one tutorial group), marking student assessments and finalising grades at the end of the semester Work closely with campus Course Coordinator, campus Professional Practice Coordinator (in relation to the Simulated Placement) the National lecturer in charge and teaching team members on other campuses (Melbourne, Nth Sydney and Brisbane) Deliver weekly two-hour tutorials during semester from August to October Assist with orientation of students to the simulated placement and act as a professional role model to students Work with the Ballarat Professional Practice Coordinator and national team to plan and organise students and clinical supervisors for the one-week simulated placement procure (materials and processes for the Sim Prac are well established) Liaise with the Course Coordinator and Professional Practice Coordinator regarding student progress Demonstrate clinical expertise and knowledge of current and evidence-based practice, specifically that related to ergonomics, vocational rehabilitation, work related injury management and employment support for people with an activity or participation restriction Ensure a mutual understanding of expectations between yourself, the placement partner and students around scope, role and responsibilities and professional behaviour during placement Ensure that each student is provided with appropriate support and resources to assist them to meet their learning objectives.
