Working in partnership with Indigenous communities in North East Arnhem Land, we promote and sell products and services that celebrate cultural richness and authenticity. Our goal is to build a sustainable online and offline marketplace that empowers community-led economic development and connects stories with audiences across Australia—and globally. We prioritise cultural integrity, ethical storytelling, and respectful collaboration. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. Role Overview We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced E-Commerce & Business Development Officer to lead our digital growth and support our expanding business base. This role combines traditional business coaching with cutting-edge online sales strategy. You’ll manage all aspects of our e-commerce operations—from website performance and SEO to digital marketing and analytics. Experience working with Indigenous communities or culturally grounded enterprises is highly valued. Key Responsibilities Build and nurture partnerships with community stakeholders, government bodies, and key organisations. Develop and maintain strong B2B and B2C relationships to drive sales growth. Design and implement strategic digital marketing plans to scale ALPA’s Community Services online platforms. Optimise the online customer experience through compelling visuals, streamlined navigation, and responsive support. Boost revenue through targeted merchandising, promotions, and strategic digital engagement. Use web analytics to identify opportunities for improvement and oversee implementation end-to-end. Enhance the customer journey by removing friction points and aligning with industry best practices. Collaborate with community members to ensure culturally accurate and respectful content across all platforms. Essential Qualifications & Experience Experience in business development, consulting, or mentoring. Qualifications in E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Business, or related fields. Demonstrated success in growing online sales and optimising e-commerce platforms. Proficiency in tools such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, and Meta Ads Manager. Strong grasp of UX/UI design, SEO, and conversion optimisation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of cultural awareness and respect. Comfortable working independently and in collaboration with remote Indigenous communities.
