The role As the System Administrator you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of IT systems and servers. You will assist in the installation of hardware and software, participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the organisation, and actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware/software. Monitor system performance and ensure reliability and availability. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights. Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery plans. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Document system configurations, procedures, and changes. Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to support business needs. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role. Intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft products, including Windows (Server and Workstation products), Active Directory, ADFS, Office 365, PowerShell and MS SQL Server. Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols. Experience with virtualization (VMware). Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash). Linux in an enterprise environment. Understanding of backup and recovery best practices (Veeam) Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work out of hours when required.
