Principal Learning Designer (UQ Entrepreneurship Programs) — St Lucia, Brisbane

About This Opportunity As the Principal Learning Designer (UQ Entrepreneurship Programs), you will collaborate with and support University staff to develop, embed, and evaluate teaching programs and pedagogies (including assessment approaches) to enhance the student learning experience, with a particular focus on interdisciplinary perspectives on entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialisation. You will report to the UQ Entrepreneurship Programs Project Manager and work under broad direction. UQ provides a range of academic programs, majors or fields of study, courses, and research initiatives focused on entrepreneurship and innovation. These include: The Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Innovation and Entrepreneurship majors in undergraduate and postgraduate programs; and a range of other courses integrating entrepreneurial and innovation learning across the curriculum in all faculties at UQ, for example, in the Master of Public Health and the Master of Sustainable Energy. This role will assist in achieving our strategic entrepreneurship goals: 1. Understanding the needs of different faculties, institutes, students and other stakeholders from the entrepreneurial offerings available. 2. Designing activities, courses and programs that enable broad implementation of entrepreneurial learning across UQ, ensuring that learnings from existing educational offerings are inclusive and embedded within the UQ Entrepreneurship Ecosystem. 3. Developing a framework to measure outcomes from entrepreneurial education. Key responsibilities will include: Support the implementation of innovative and successful pedagogical approaches and technologies that support program development, delivery, and ensure quality student experiences. Advise and assist academic and professional staff to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning experiences, resources, tools and processes that support student learning, with a focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialisation. Assist in the design, development and management of strategic teaching and learning projects, in collaboration with the academic experts in entrepreneurship, the UQ learning design community, and relevant industry experts and stakeholders. Assist in delivering high quality learning experiences for students by providing professional development and best practice exemplars to academic staff that include flexible modes of delivery, active and blended learning, and inclusive design. Contribute to and participate in Faculty learning design initiatives as required. This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 2 years at HEW Level 7. About You Relevant degree and at least four (4) years of subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in developing online resources to support student learning and assessment. Demonstrated understanding of educational technology and best practices to support student achievement, engagement, and assessment. Demonstrated ability to apply pedagogical theory, contemporary practice, and practical experience to analyse complex teaching and learning situations and apply high-level problem-solving skills to develop appropriate and innovative face-to-face and online learning and assessment solutions. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative linkages with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work iteratively, adapting quickly to change, and operating effectively both on an autonomous basis and as a member of a collaborative, student-focused team. Demonstrated ability to work independently, to manage time and projects, and the ability to work under pressure. Desirable Practical experience or understanding of business innovation, entrepreneurship, and/or research commercialisation. A very high level of digital literacy in software applications, including Microsoft products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, as well as corporate applications for financial and resource management The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check etc. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
