We are now looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to join our Fire business, helping us to be the trades most valued partner. About the role Reporting to the National Fabrication Manager, the Engineering Technician provides technical support to engineers with the planning and manufacturing of our fire protection systems, with a focus on the fabrication of sprinkler systems, pipe assemblies, and associated components. This includes the maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of equipment and processes – industrial machinery, instruments, mechanical systems and process controls. This role works closely with engineers and workshop team members to ensure that products are fabricated to specification, meet relevant codes and standards, and are delivered on time & within budget. Skills and Experience To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following: Experience working as a Fire Protection Equipment Technician including the pipefitting, welding and maintenance of fire systems, or experience working with mechanical services Experience working with fire suppression systems. Knowledge of the wet fire industry, fire detection and suppression systems, and the ability to maintain and operate fire equipment. Familiarity with fabrication equipment and tools used in pipe fitting (e.g. threading machines, roll grooving machines, welding), along with the with relevant fire codes, standards, and regulations. Problem solving skills – the ability to troubleshot issues with fire protection systems and equipment, and strong communication skills and attention to detail.
