About the program: AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace. Your responsibilities will include: Join our team on the AIR6500 Program and take the lead in shaping the system architecture for a next-generation, integrated air and missile defence capability. As the Systems Engineering Lead, you will drive requirements development, systems modelling, and technical solutioning within a complex C4ISREW environment. Key Responsibilities : Lead decomposition of system and sub-system requirements in a Model-Based Engineering (MBE) environment. Define key interfaces and support solution trade-off decisions. Deliver critical engineering artefacts including solution descriptions, trade studies, and requirement definitions. Collaborate with SMEs and partner organisations to support reviews and project milestones. Drive requirement development, traceability, and analysis across the engineering lifecycle. Lead system engineering activities including requirements workshops, reviews, and working groups. Manage and report on requirements stability and achievability. About you: Degree qualifications in a relevant Engineering Discipline or relevant industry experience. Extensive experience in systems engineering for complex defence systems, particularly in the C4ISREW domain. Strong knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools like MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar. Proven ability to lead requirements development and manage trade-off analysis. Experience working in Agile development environments.
