$81,617 per annum plus superannuation Full time, Fixed term to 7th August 2026 Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung/Melbourne La Trobe Street based role (hybrid work from home – 3 days a week in office) About Medical Panels As an alternative medical dispute resolution service under the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act and the Wrongs Act 1958, Medical Panels play an important role in the fair assessment of medical disputes, hearing around 4500 referrals each year and producing binding decisions that have a significant impact on injured workers and claimants. A Medical Panel consists of Members who are Governor in Councils appointments, and are selected by the Convenor of Medical Panels or a Deputy Convenor for the purposes of responding to a medical referral where there is disagreement or uncertainty about aspects of an injury or medical condition. Specialist staff are employed by WorkSafe to assist in the administration and management of the operations of Medical Panels, and provide assistance to facilitate the proper function of individually constituted Medical Panels. At all times in representing Medical Panels, WorkSafe staff are required to maintain an ethical separateness from WorkSafe demonstrated by commitment to the Medical Panels’ purpose, goals and interests. WorkSafe Victoria and the relationship with Medical Panels WorkSafe Victoria is the statutory body established to administer the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013. The legislation requires WorkSafe to appoint such resources, officers and employees as are necessary for the Convenor to constitute and administer the proper function of individually constituted Medical Panels. About the opportunity Reporting to the Administration Coordinator, the Accounts Administration Officer is primarily responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective accounts payable and administration support service to ensure the proper functioning of Medical Panels. Key accountabilities include but are not limited to: Initiate payments to Panel Members (Medical Practitioners), and other suppliers/vendors using the ACCtion mainframe system (payments pursuant to WorkCover claims). Initiate payments to Panel Members (Medical Practitioners), and other suppliers/vendors, pursuant to the Wrongs Act claims, and claims made through Self-Insurers. Maintain the Medical Panels database, in respect of accounts payable functions, ensuring strict guidelines are followed, and alerting the manager to any irregularities. Ensure the WorkSafe Provider Registration is updated with information pertaining to Panel Member registration changes or updates. Adhere to the guidelines of the Medical Panels payment policies. Ensure weekly downloads of payments are actioned, to ensure payment records are as up to date as possible. Ensure reconciliation work is completed within required timeframes. This includes, but not limited to, matching of unmatched payments, follow up with Panel Members on outstanding accounts, etc. Investigate discrepancies and ensure that all follow up activities are addressed in a timely and efficient manner, making suggestions for improvement where required. About you To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate having previous experience in a similar role undertaking accounts processing/administrative tasks including processing forms with accurate data entry. Demonstrated experience using Acction Mainframe system and the Oracle Fusion Platform is preferred. You will bring a well-rounded understanding of the accounts payable function including requirements for tax invoicing. Excellent time management skills are a must, with proven experience in meeting strict deadlines. You thrive working in a team environment but are also comfortable working autonomously.
