Responsibilities What we can offer Meaningful and interesting projects delivered to leaders of industry across renewables and emerging energy sectors Flexible working arrangements that balance client, team and individual needs offering hybrid and remote working where relevant Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion; we are an organisation actively committed to diversity and inclusion across our business with employee networks committed to giving all employees a voice Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market Commitment to continued professional development; development plans that are tailored to your individual needs and interests Global connections ; join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession Typical responsibilities The key responsibilities of this role include: Prepare 2D & 3D CAD models (primarily utilising AutoCAD and Inventor), sketches, pipeline layouts, piping isometrics, alignment sheets, structural arrangements (PLETs, PLEMs manifolds etc ) & detailed engineering drawings as are required on projects from concept to detailed design as well as involvement in asset management activities; Distribution of workload on projects in accordance with the drawing registers; Arranging PDF copies of drawings into correct project directories & advising DCC of issues; Attending kick off meetings; Ensuring engineers provide sufficient design engineering input (sketches, calculations, and computer models) allowing designers to progress drawings to a satisfactory level for checking; Encourage engineering input at early stage of design (i.e. provide engineers with first pass drawings marked preliminary to allow incorporation of serious comments prior to official check print issue or ask for informal design meeting); Ensure designers adhere to the company’s drawing office standards; Ensure all CAD files are stored in appropriate project folders; Create a project directory in the relevant network drive at the start of new projects in line with existing set up; Maintain master files for project drawings; Ensure drawings are delivered by agreed dates within the drawing register or as requested by responsible engineer / manager; Focal point for engineers to request new drawings / change requests / issue of drawings; Assist in the preparation of Drawing Office input to bids (i.e. drawing registers & hours) for inclusion within CTR’s; Ensure a philosophy of change management to avoid negative impacts on projects. Checking of more junior designers’ drawings to ensure quality Provide input into continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications What makes you remarkable? We would like to hear from applicants interested in this field of engineering, possessing a positive attitude along with effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills. 8 years recent relevant experience in the subsea sector (pipelines and structures) 8 years structural / mechanical design experience; preferably subsea design for manifolds, PLEMS, jumpers, OR experience designing rigid risers, tie-in spools, riser clamps Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk software (Experience with Inventor is a plus) Keen interest in resolving technical ambiguity, trouble shooting and problem resolution Strong communicator with effective written and verbal skills Self-motivated, technically curious requiring minimal supervision Ability to manage time to meet deliverables, and work well in team environment Familiarity of subsea vendor equipment, such as valves, connectors, controls equipment highly preferred Personal attributes: A summary of the personal characteristics required to perform the job effectively are: Comfortable with change and complexity in dynamic environments Strong ability to network and quickly build working relationships Exceptional time management skills Strong ability to influence and push back where the situation requires Able to work well under pressure Strong ability to think logically Collaborative Approach Performance Driven Professional - Passion for Quality High attention to Detail Effective Communication Skills Positive and Proactive “Can Do” attitude Flexible and Adaptable Wood encourages Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply.
