About the Role: An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate Italian LOTE teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Melbourne's culturally rich inner west from Term 3. This junior secondary role (Years 7-9) is part of a well-established LOTE program and will run until the end of the year, with potential to extend into 2026. Located within a contemporary, multi-campus setting, the school is part of a broader educational precinct committed to innovative, high-quality teaching and learning. Staff often work collaboratively across campuses-only a short walk or drive apart-creating a unified and connected teaching culture. Key duties: Develop engaging curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum for Italian LOTE at a Secondary level. Deliver effective and interactive Italian LOTE language instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures. Introduce aspects of Italian culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness. Design assessments to evaluate their language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate the Italian language and culture into broader educational themes and projects. Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies. Skills & Experience: Current VIT registration Have unrestricted working rights in Australia Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Italian LOTE at a Secondary level, however graduates are welcome to apply Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable). Offering: Part-time position commencing immediately on days Tue, Wed and Fri. Teaching Italian LOTE to students in Years 7-9 across multiple campuses.
