About the Opportunity Reporting to the relevant team lead, we currently have a requirement for 3 x Structural and 2 Mechanical Engineers or Technical Officers. The Structural/Mechanical Engineers/Technical Officers will provide technical expertise and support to engineering disciplines across the Collin’s Class program, to help deliver engineering products and services. These opportunities will undertake work at a system/assembly/component level with limited supervision, as well as being responsible for the schedule of personal technical tasks. The positions are to be part of the Full Cycle Docking Engineering team based in Osborne, where experience in Heavy Engineering and Maintenance, such as: Structural Design and Analysis, Pressure Vessel Maintenance/Design, Marine Engineering, Ship Maintenance, Jigs & Fixtures design and certification analysis, Material Assessments, Welding Engineering, and NDT Techniques and Interpretation is essential. Responsibilities The ability to complete intermediate Structural engineering calculations The ability to undertake work at component and system/ assembly levels Demonstrated experience in checking design information at a component level The ability to perform technical analysis using existing tools and procedures The ability to draw on appropriate technical data and information to determine structurally sound decisions and direction. Demonstrated experience with stakeholder engagement and multi-discipline communications. Demonstrated exposure in the preparation of technical reports. Experience in developing and authorising the implementation of technical solutions within engineering delegations. Minimum 5 years experience in an Engineer/Technical Officer or similar role Bachelor Degree/ Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree of Engineering in relevant field or equivalent experience. Experience with projects of a complex nature within a similar industry. Demonstrated experience in working with project management disciplines such as integration, scope, and schedule, cost and risk opportunity management. Eligibility for Australian Department of Defence Security clearance About you You will be a suitably qualified professional with extensive experience within a similar role. You will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the ASC’s objectives. Our ideal candidate will be driven, enthusiastic, and have sound technical skills. Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
