About the role We're looking for a passionate and skilled Cloud Engineer to join our Enterprise Delivery team. This role focuses on managing the technologies and standards for Cloud Services and AWS EFTPOS payment systems. As a key member of the team, you'll be responsible for deploying, managing, and assuring these systems at both a high and detailed level. What You'll Do: Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud infrastructure solutions aligned with agile, automated, and cloud-first principles. Manage, maintain, and optimise AWS-based production systems, ensuring performance, security, and scalability. Configure, release, and monitor infrastructure using AWS native services. Implement and maintain logging, metrics, and monitoring tools. Troubleshoot system and application issues across cloud environments. Ensure systems undergo thorough testing and meet quality benchmarks before deployment. Enhance system security by applying cloud security best practices. Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and technology to drive better performance and cost efficiency. This role may be part of an on-call roster for incident response and resolution, depending on team needs. What You'll Bring: Strong understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) – including deployment, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure (experience with Azure or GCP also beneficial). Solid grasp of DevOps concepts and hands-on experience with tools like Jenkins, Ansible , and cloud-native services . Familiarity with networking concepts including route tables, firewalls, DNS, and NAT. Knowledge of RESTful Web Services , XML , and JSON . Confident communication skills – both verbal and written. Experience working within Agile / SAFe environments. Strong skills in automation , especially in: Build & deployment pipelines using BitBucket / Jenkins / GitLab / AWS CodeCommit. Infrastructure automation using CloudFormation , AWS CDK , or similar (Terraform and Ansible are a bonus). Proficiency in at least one programming language such as JavaScript, TypeScript , or Java . Practical understanding of modern DevOps practices in a cloud environment. AWS or Azure certifications are a bonus but not mandatory. What’s in it for you?
