We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team in Clayton and provide quality assurance support across our manufacturing plants. The successful candidate will be an expert in coatings and manufacturing and drive technical improvement plans to improve efficiency and lower costs across the site. Responsibilities Develop quality standards and procedures for the Plant Oversee the calibration, service and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Ensure equipment is calibrated and function correctly Support the FLM and Process Engineer with process improvements from several aspects that include but not limited to Quality, Productivity in Manufacturing, Testing Responsible for new product introduction process for business by conducting pre and post batch 1 and product transfer review meetings with Technical, Planning and Manufacturing personnel Work to reduce manufacturing costs though enhancement of key KPIs Following quality processes and ensuring compliance with PPG, ISO quality standards Assist in developing, modifying and improving current manufacturing processes Facilitate regular meetings between Technical and Manufacturing personnel to review issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and review progress of improvement action plans Requirements A degree in Chemistry or related field Formal qualification in laboratory management, quality assurance or problem solving well regarded Good understanding of quality assurance requirements and the disciplines required to maintain ISO 9001, APAS, GMP, etc An understanding of Lean manufacturing principles A minimum of 5 years in surface coatings or related fields with experience in solvent borne coatings in a technical role in QC/Product Development/Works Chemist What We Offer Opportunities for development and long-term career progression.
