SIL House Leader - Disability Support — Erakala, Mackay

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate SIL House Leader who will make a real difference in the lives of our participants. About the role As a SIL House Leader, you will assist individuals with disabilities in managing their daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and routine building. You will also empower participants through our Mindful Mentor programs, using mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork techniques to encourage personal growth. Additionally, you will support emotional and psychological development, helping to build confidence, self-esteem, and communication skills, while ensuring participants have the necessary support to thrive both in their homes and within their communities. You will have the opportunity to support participants with: Support participants with daily living tasks Assist with personal care and hygiene Prepare nutritious meals Help build and maintain routines Encourage community participation Support the development of independent living skills The roster: You will work on a rotating schedule of: 1 week on (Sunday to Sunday), providing SIL support for periods during the day and stay overnight for sleepover shifts in the SIL house for 7 consecutive nights. 1 week rostered off to rest and recharge. What we are looking for A minimum of 2-years as a disability support worker You have or can obtain the following: Blue Card, WWCC and NDIS Screening/Yellow Car First Aid and CPR Certificate Drivers licence Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance Ideal but not mandatory: Cert IV in mental health or equivalent Strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency with technology.
