As a key member of the Technical Services team, you'll be instrumental in supporting safe and efficient mining through smart, practical geotechnical solutions. This is a high-performing team with strong experience across large-scale underground operations. You'll work closely with both operational and technical leaders across the mine to identify risk, implement monitoring strategies, and drive site performance through quality geotech practices. Duties include but not limited to: Managing geotechnical risks in line with relevant QLD legislation (MQSHA & regs) Conducting field investigations, mapping, and sampling to assess conditions Designing and implementing geotechnical monitoring systems Advising on geotech aspects of mine design and project work Collaborating closely with mining, geology, and operational teams Producing reports, presenting findings, and recommending practical solutions A degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Mining Engineering, or Engineering Geology Recent experience in underground coal is essential Familiarity with geotechnical software (Rocscience, GeoStudio etc.) Ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines RPEQ preferred or working towards 7/7 roster with options to FIFO from Brisbane or relocate to Central QLD Accommodation provided while on shift Work with an experienced leadership team in a values-driven environment Excellent salary performance bonus novated lease options Long-term career development in a high-growth operation About Brunel: Brunel is a recruitment and flexible workforce solution provider which connects talented people with opportunities throughout Australasia and around the world.
