We are seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our team and oversee all aspects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for supporting educational technology initiatives. Job Summary: The Systems Administrator will be responsible for planning, redesigning, developing, installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting our business operations systems, information systems, server hardware, software, and associated databases. The role ensures optimum system integrity, security, backup, and performance. Key Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Diagnose and resolve any technical issues using TeamViewer, Splashtop, and other remote systems, relating to (but not limited to): - Active Directory/Azure AD - Windows 2012/2016/2019 Environments - RDS Servers with/without remote app - MS SQL Servers running proprietary/industry-specific applications - Some Exchange and Google Apps, Office 365 deployments - Various GPOs, login configurations, etc. - Windows 7/ 8/10//11 Workstations - 3CX (Business Communications) - IoT Projects (Arduino/ESP/ARM) - Some Scripting and Programming (Bonus if you have Python experience) System Re-engineering: Lead the redesign and ongoing administration of our central business operations system to improve scalability, security, and user-session management. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive system documentation, encompassing configuration management and change control processes. Database Management: Design and maintain database architecture, data structures, tables, dictionaries, and naming conventions to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Network Performance: Monitor and adjust network performance to ensure all components function properly and integrate seamlessly. Security: Implement and administer database documentation, guidelines, policies, and procedures; liaise with security vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Assist with responding to security incidents, ensuring resolution within a mutually agreeable timeframe. Future Planning: Continually assess current computer sites to determine future network needs and recommend enhancements for future servers and networks. Skills and Experience: -At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a Managed Services environment -Ability to manage and support Microsoft desktop environments, including Windows 10/11 -Ability to manage and support Apple environments, including macOS, iOS -Ability to manage and support Microsoft Server environments, including Windows Server 2016 - 2022, Exchange Server, and SQL -Well-developed Active Directory and Group Policy management and administration skills -Proven knowledge of Microsoft Online services, such as Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive -Demonstrated networking knowledge, including but not limited to: Routing, NAT, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP services -Experience in supporting and maintaining backup solutions such as Veeam -Experience in virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V and/or Citrix -Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure -Experience with security products such as Fortinet, Barracuda and Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Security -Hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of hardware like servers, firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure is an advantage In addition, the following attributes and qualities will put you at an advantage: -Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. -Certificates from Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google, or Red Hat are highly regarded -An understanding of ITIL and customer service principles would be highly regarded -Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels, including non-technical audiences -Proficiency in a language other than English is a plus -Focus on documentation and process -Team player with experience collaborating across teams to ensure the successful delivery of solutions -The applicant will be required to address the myriad of day to day issues you experience with such environments(whether it be a simple password reset or some exchange server routing issue), you may have to speak with the client directly on occasions to clarify/verify issues or resolutions, the applicant will need to have excellent communication skills to explain the problems over the phone clearly.
