We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Security Officer to join us part time on an 5 Month Contract at Darwin Convention Centre! The purpose of this role is to provide a safe, comfortable and secure environment for all staff, clients and patrons. This will include tasks such as: Contribute to the effective planning and operations of events in relation to security and assume team leader responsibilities where required Assist the Centre Operations Manager and Security Coordinator in providing safety and security services to the Centre Assist the Security Coordinator with any administrative tasks as required Maintain effective communication with external contractors with security related matters Ensure that all Centre staff comply with Centre safety procedures and the Centre's WH&S obligations are met Assist in the management if the emergency services and evacuation procedures for the Centre, while being the nominated First-Aid responder when required. Investigate and compile reports on any workplace incidents that may occur Monitor CCTV surveillance and Carpark systems Maintain security registers and delegation of assets to both staff and external contractors Assist with any other tasks and day-to-day operations as required by the Centre Operations Manager, Security Coordinator or other departments. Minimum one year of experience in a similar role Valid Security and Crowd Control licence and ability to maintain its validity Valid First Aid and CPR certificate Flexible availability for a rotating 7-day event-based roster, including after hours Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Proficient in computer systems and relevant software applications Professional personal presentation and grooming Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments Strong teamwork, leadership, and staff management skills Organized with effective time management and attention to detail Proactive, adaptable, and receptive to guidance A satisfactory National Police Records Check is required for this role.
