About the role Maroondah Hospital Ward 1North is a fast-paced Orthopaedic Surgical ward dedicated to providing the highest standard of care. This position will suit an applicant with outstanding customer service with patient focus. In this role you will be responsible for unit administrative duties and supporting nursing staff with the efficient and smooth management of the area. Computer and interpersonal skills are required with proven clerical experience. The incumbent will have a positive attitude and be able to work under pressure. The position involves a broad range of administrative duties including admit, transfer and discharge patients as required, reception, telephone enquiries and record management. It also requires performing data entries, maintenance & compilation of medical records, real time updating of patient information and using EMR, IPM, CPF, PFM systems. Experience in Hospital Patient Information Management Systems and medical terminology is highly desirable. About you To be successful in this role you will possess Well-developed customer service and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of your work Excellent organisational and time management skills A strong administrative background (with knowledge of medical terminology) Experience with Patient Information Systems Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
