New Build Team Lead – Volvo Construction Equipment – Guildford, WA CJD Equipment is on the hunt for a proactive New Build Team Leader to join our diverse, collaborative, and supportive New Build team in Guildford . In this role, your mechanical know-how and eye for detail will be key to delivering high-quality builds that meet Australian Design Rules and customer specifications. The work you do will directly influence the performance, safety, and reliability of every machine that leaves our facility. Duties & Responsibilities: Modify and assemble machine components to meet customer specifications and OEM standards. Install systems and accessories including fast fill units, live sampling systems, fire extinguishers, safety decals, handrails, and electrical components (e.g., lighting, shutdown systems). Conduct mechanical and cosmetic repairs, perform quality checks, and assist with product testing and inspections. Operate machinery within the workshop for movement and positioning. Complete documentation accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations and OEM guidelines. Carry out mechanical assembly, component packaging, and basic equipment maintenance. We are looking for someone with: Previous mechanical assembly experience, ideally within the heavy equipment industry. Ability to lead, support, and provide direction to team members, ensuring a productive and cohesive work environment. Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, with a strong understanding of safety procedures and best practices. Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, drawings, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate builds. Experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic wiring, with a solid mechanical aptitude. A positive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality. Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges, with a proactive approach to upskilling. Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
