Mills Recruitment is seeking a Senior E&I Designer to join their team in Brisbane for a 6-9 month contract to support our client providing exceptional engineering solutions for the chemicals, energy and Mineral Processing industries. Deliver projects from research and development to operational readiness and commissioning support. The Project Is an Australian initiative to establish a large-scale, high-purity alumina production facility. This is a critical material used in advanced technologies such as LED lighting, lithium-ion batteries, semiconductors and synthetic sapphire. A significant step in advancing Australia’s role in the global supply chain for critical materials essential to the clean energy transition and high-tech industries. About the Role: Develop detailed electrical designs, models, drawings, and specifications in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other disciplines to understand project requirements and objectives. Contribute technical and design assistance to provide engineering design solutions in consultation with the Lead Engineer. Demonstrate a high standard of personal safety and safe design practices. Ensure drafting and review processes are completed. Review drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with company Standards. Execute checking of design drawings and participate in squad checks as directed. Complete work in accordance with cost and schedule and ensure project and client expectations are met. Support the continuous improvement of design systems used by the organisation and investigate new drafting techniques and drafting equipment and recommend changes to standard practises. Attend site as required to build and support construction projects. What we are looking for: 7 to 10 years’ relevant E&I design experience. Experience in alumina. Highly proficient in MicroStation (3D as well as 2D). Willing to travel to site on an ad-hoc basis.
