The Opportunity We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Electrical Project Design Manager to join our Queensland Commercial Construction team offering the opportunity to lead high-profile, large-scale commercial construction projects across Southeast Queensland. Key Responsibilities Lead and/or oversee end-to-end electrical design and documentation for major commercial construction projects. Provide technical leadership and support throughout the design and delivery phases. Mentor and guide junior engineers to support professional development and technical excellence. Coordinate with multidisciplinary project coordination throughout the tender, design, and construction lifecycle. Manage and direct the digital engineering team to support best-practice BIM and digital design standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, consultants, and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety legislation, and quality standards. What You’ll Bring Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) . Strong leadership and people-management skills with a collaborative mindset. Proven experience delivering electrical designs for large-scale commercial construction projects. Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and structural multidisciplinary drawings. Excellent project coordination skills including scheduling, budgeting, and reporting (Gantt charts, timelines, etc.). Hands-on knowledge of testing and commissioning of major LV electrical infrastructure (with HV, SCADA, solar, diesel generation, and ITS highly desirable). Proficiency in cost estimation and value engineering to optimise design outcomes. Deep knowledge of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code, and sustainable construction practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict. A commitment to fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
