17th June, 2025 About the Team Our Disputes practice includes a close-knit, collaborative team led by award-winning partners Nathan Cecil and Geoff Farnsworth. The team handles a diverse range of disputes, regulatory, and commercial matters for clients in the domestic and international transport, shipping, and logistics sectors, as well as for businesses where trade and transport are central to operations and risk. Clients include listed companies, SMEs, private enterprises, and both national and international organisations. You'll be joining a supportive, high-performing team that values collaboration and mutual success. About the Role We are looking for a Legal Assistant to support the partners and broader team — in a role that goes far beyond traditional administrative tasks. This is an opportunity to become an integral part of the practice. You will be included in weekly team meetings and gain deep insight into the team's matters, clients, and priorities. Your role will be varied and dynamic, combining legal administrative support with practice management assistance. This is a rare chance to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing success of a top-tier legal team. Your key responsibilities will include: Document preparation and management Collating briefs to counsel File management (paper and electronic, using FileSite) Diary and calendar coordination Organising team meetings and practice group events Monthly billing and time entry (via Aderant Expert) Monitoring matter progress and delivery Managing budgets, timelines, and schedules Client account and debtor management, including fee estimates General administrative support About You To succeed in this role, you will have: Experience as a Legal Assistant in a fast-paced legal environment Exposure to or a strong interest in litigation and disputes work Familiarity with court processes and documentation A keen eye for detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset Strong technical skills and a willingness to improve or streamline processes We are also open to law students who have at least 2 years remaining in their degree and can commit to the role for 18–24 months.
