About the role: As the business continues to grow, our client is now seeking a qualified and talented Mechanical Engineer to join their busy team based in Kilburn SA. You will be responsible for applying your expertise to solving complex mechanical engineering issues and you will work closely with the management team, allocating resources and ensuring successful delivery of projects. The role is full-time and on-going with a great salary package in the range of $70k to $80k plus superannuation per annum is on the offer. Responsibilities of the new Mechanical Engineer will include: Creating and developing mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software. This includes designing machinery and equipment used in the recycling process. Conducting research to develop new products or improve existing ones. This involves staying updated with the latest technologies and innovations in plastics recycling. Performing simulations and testing to validate designs and ensure they meet performance criteria. This includes analysing mechanical systems for reliability, durability, and efficiency. Identifying and solving engineering problems using analytical methods and tools. This includes conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions. Overseeing maintenance operations, including the maintenance of electrical systems, forklifts, skid-steer loaders, and other mechanical equipment. This also involves supervising a team of maintenance technicians. Working closely with testing and quality assurance teams to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards. This includes providing training and technical support to production personnel. Maintaining accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures, and work instructions. Effectively communicating with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment on design goals and requirements. To be successfully considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following: Highly relevant bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field. At least 1 to 3 years, preferably more, years of verifiable relevant professional experience. Proficiency in technical skills, engineering software, tools, and technologies related to mechanical engineering. Experience and proficiency in 3D CAD software, machining techniques, and assembly design principles. Developed skills in engineering design drawings & simulations. Good experience performing structural and finite element analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach. Well-developed coordinating experience of company resources. Highly focused on the measurement management and reporting of projects costs. Recommending design and implement modifications.
