Senior Electrical Engineer - 9 Month Contract - Defence Program | Melbourne A defence client of ours is seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of electrical systems for next-generation defence platforms. This is a key role within the Electronic Architecture team, collaborating across disciplines and managing high-value subcontractor relationships. Key Responsibilities: Conduct end-to-end systems engineering activities including requirements analysis, safety assessments, verification & validation, and compliance reviews. Contribute to and manage delivery of engineering documentation (DIDs), ensuring alignment with customer and legislative requirements. Evaluate delivered systems against customer expectations, identify risk, and contribute to mitigation strategies. Provide technical oversight to subcontractors including C4 systems providers within the Electronic Architecture domain. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence design outcomes, and support junior engineering staff. About You: Degree-qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. Experience delivering complex electrical engineering outcomes within defence or similar regulated industries. Sound understanding of military standards, power distribution, and safety compliance. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and mentoring capabilities. Ability to operate in a high-tempo environment with precision and accountability. Desirable: Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working toward Engineers Australia chartership. Requirements: Australian Citizenship (mandatory for Defence clearance eligibility).
