Backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital and private equity funds, this high growth business is well funded and has operations across Australia, the United States and Europe. About the role To support the business’ continued growth, our client has created a new Legal Counsel role. Reporting to the Head of Legal and Operations, the scope and responsibility of this role can (to an extent) be framed to suit your skills an experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of key commercial and corporate transactions, including: Complex customer SaaS contracts across multiple jurisdictions. Corporate transactions, capital raisings and investor relations. Intellectual property matters. Employment matters. Litigation and dispute resolution. You will have regular engagement with the business’ Founders, senior stakeholders, investors and sophisticated corporate customers. Over time, you can also scale into non-legal functions such as corporate development, finance, strategy and general operations. About you You will be a dual Australian and US-qualified lawyer with 3-6 years’ PQE. You will have gained some experience in a transactional practice within a Tier 1 Australian or international law firm. Our client is open to candidates with a range of experience including M&A, banking and finance, TMT or IP. The focus for this role will be on the quality of experience rather than subject matter. You will bring a high level of attention to detail, combined with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Given the international nature of the organisation, you will be flexible and able to work with stakeholders across time zones, however the Founders have a strong focus on maintaining a inclusive and supportive environment with good work/life balance.
