Position Summary: The Assistant Venue Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of Rita’s Bar & Restaurant. Working closely with the Venue Manager, this position ensures high service standards are upheld across both front and back of house operations. The Assistant Venue Manager is a hands-on leader who provides team supervision, operational oversight, and contributes to the venue’s financial, marketing, and community initiatives. The role requires adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to excellence in hospitality. Key Responsibilities: Operations Management • Assist in managing daily operations, ensuring smooth transitions between shifts. • Supervise front and back of house to maintain consistency, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. • Respond to and resolve any day-to-day operational issues promptly. • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing requirements. Team Leadership & Training • Support the Venue Manager in staffing, rostering, and supervising team performance. • Mentor and train new and existing staff to uphold service and quality standards. • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and motivated team environment. Customer Service • Lead by example to deliver high-quality, customer-focused service. • Address customer feedback or concerns with professionalism and care. • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere in line with the brand and values of Rita’s Bar & Restaurant. Inventory & Financial Support • Monitor stock levels and coordinate inventory management, including ordering and receiving. • Assist with stocktakes and cost control measures. • Support basic financial tasks including daily cash handling, reconciliations, and reporting. Events & Marketing • Assist with the planning and delivery of in-house events and functions. • Coordinate with marketing initiatives, including promotions, social media, and local outreach. • Build positive relationships with the local community and contribute to venue exposure. Acting in Management Role • Step into the Venue Manager’s role during periods of absence. • Make sound operational decisions in alignment with venue policies and goals. Key Skills & Attributes: • Strong leadership and communication skills • Experience in hospitality management (front and/or back of house) • Customer-focused with a proactive and positive attitude • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment • Sound knowledge of food and beverage operations • Experience with inventory and staff scheduling systems • High level of professionalism, reliability, and initiative Qualifications & Experience: • Relevant qualification of at least Advanced Diploma level • Minimum 2–3 years in a hospitality supervisory or assistant management role • RSA and Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain) • Bar and restaurant operations knowledge essential • Event coordination and marketing experience desirable Working Conditions: • Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and public holidays • On-your-feet role requiring active engagement in all service areas • Hands-on leadership across a dynamic hospitality environment Salary - $90,000 p.a. plus Super
