Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and self-motivated overhead crane electrical engineering technician with a relevant trade qualification. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a minimum of 3 years post-trade experience and a solid understanding of Australian crane standards. Key Responsibilities: Assist Electrical Engineers in designing and laying out electrical installations for overhead cranes, including substations, switchgear, and motor control systems. Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and diagrams for electrical installations and circuitry; maintain accurate documentation of all designs and modifications. Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards, including calibrating and repairing components. Estimate material costs and quantities required for projects and maintenance activities. Assemble, install, and commission electrical components and systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements and regulations. Provide technical support for research and experimental programs to innovate and enhance product offerings. Install, test, and adjust electrical and mechanical parts. Prioritise the health and safety of yourself and others while delivering on quality standards. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills An Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field. At least three years of relevant work experience. Certification as an Electrical Engineering Technician is preferred. Possession of EWP, Gantry, and Forklift tickets is a definite advantage. Current open C class driver’s licence. Comfortable working at heights and handling heavy components. Ability to follow safety protocols and use PPE as required. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in documenting complex electrical systems. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and safety standards. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and support complex projects. Reliability, punctuality, and a client-focused mindset. Work Schedule: Fixed 8-hour shiftsor rotating roster,depending on operational needs. Overtime may be required as needed. Benefits: Benefit package include work vehicle and fuel card.
