Senior Mine Planning Engineer — Perth, Perth Region

Senior Mine Planning Engineer Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning, this role is responsible for setting and communicating the mine’s planning direction. The position ensures the seamless integration of the Life of Mine strategy and medium-term planning into the successful execution of the business plan by managing geological, geotechnical, design, and operational risks. Key Accountabilities Develop and deliver comprehensive mine plans, including Area Plans , Stope Notes , and Development Mining Instructions . Provide practical and executable plans to the Production team, ensuring operational efficiency. Supervise, mentor, and develop the Mine Planning team. Prepare Annual Budget Mine Designs , including conceptual area plans . Ensure spatial compliance between operating stopes and planned stopes. Integrate long-term strategies with medium and short-term design plans to maintain operational alignment. Communicate mine plans effectively to all relevant personnel, fostering awareness of future targets and operational directions . Incorporate cross-functional feedback into design processes, ensuring optimization across all planning horizons. Collaborate with Geology departments on diamond drilling targets and resource drilling programs. Develop capital cost estimates and infrastructure plans for mine expansion projects. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required: Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline. National Police Clearance meeting company requirements. Valid "C" Class Western Australian Driver’s Licence . Desired: Extensive experience in the mining industry. Underground production and planning expertise in a mechanized hard-rock underground mine. Strong proficiency in mine planning processes across long, medium, and short-term horizons. Experience in all aspects of mine design , including lateral/vertical development and production . Intermediate-level experience using Deswik suite software. First Class Mine Manager’s Ticket (highly regarded). Excellent communication skills , with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels. Proactive, flexible approach to work and tasks. Outstanding organizational and analytical abilities . Strong competency in Microsoft Office applications . Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
