About the role In this role, you’ll play a key part in the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise infrastructure platforms across cloud and on-prem environments. You’ll be working closely with security, networking, and architecture teams, supporting both BAU and major transformation projects. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain on-prem infrastructure, including Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Hyper-V and VMware environments Lead Azure infrastructure management (IaaS, PaaS, networking, monitoring, and cost optimisation) Support the migration of workloads from on-prem to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum performance Maintain and enhance Active Directory, Group Policy, and Azure AD, including conditional access, identity governance, and MFA Own patching, backup, monitoring and DR processes (Veeam, SCCM/Intune, SCOM, Azure Monitor, etc.) Drive automation of system administration tasks using PowerShell, ARM templates, or Bicep Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to ensure environments align with regulatory requirements (CPS 234, ISO 27001, etc.) Troubleshoot complex issues across systems, network, and applications, acting as the senior escalation point Mentor junior engineers and contribute to infrastructure architecture and roadmap planning About you To be successful in this role, you will have: 3 years in senior infrastructure/system engineering roles Strong hands-on skills across Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V, DNS/DHCP, and storage (SAN/NAS) Proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting Azure IaaS/PaaS, Azure AD, and hybrid environments Scripting and automation skills – PowerShell is a must Experience with monitoring, backup, and patch management tools (e.g., SCOM, Veeam, SCCM, Intune) Familiarity with networking concepts – firewalls, load balancers, VLANs, VPNs Understanding of cloud security, identity management, and compliance in financial or regulated environments Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset How to apply If you are well suited to this opportunity, we'd like to hear from you.
