About the Centre/Service Croydon North Kinder is a community-run kindergarten that has been operating since 1956. The kinder is operated by a volunteer Committee of Management with the support of our highly skilled and dedicated staff. The kinder offers two sessional four-year-old kinder groups and a sessional three-year-old kinder group. Our aim is to provide meaningful play, which is active, engaging, open-ended and creative. Through both intentional teaching, the scaffolding of children’s interests and self-directed investigations, we endeavour to support children’s learning and encourage them to extend themselves and their understandings. Description An exciting opportunity has become available for a four-year-old kindergarten teacher to join our team. The key purpose of this role is to develop and provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate educational program for our four-year-old red group. Ideally, the applicant should have a minimum of two years’ experience working with children. We are seeking a highly motivated teacher who shares our values and who is willing to continue growing in their teaching practices. The applicant should demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with children, parents and staff; have sound documentation skills; and a willingness to be critically reflective. The position commences Term 3, 2025. Other Relief opportunities are available. Qualifications The successful applicant will: Demonstrate a sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development and education. Have the ability to develop, document and implement a high quality, developmentally appropriate education program for kindergarten children in consultation with relevant stakeholders Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with children, the committee of management (employer), families, other staff and professionals. The ability to plan, work and manage time effectively with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with children, parents, staff and committee of management Well-developed leadership and self-motivation skills. Ability to ensure confidentiality of information. Show a clear understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law Act and Regulations, The National Quality Standards, Child Safe Standards and the Victoria Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
