Duties & Responsibilities: Negotiate prices and provide recommendations for the purchase of supplies Ensure the best possible value for money outcome is achieved Allow open competition with suppliers in relation to purchasing Be informed of current developments in the field of purchasing, prices, market conditions and new products Actively suggest alternatives and challenge the requirement for purchases when appropriate Review supplier agreements on a timely basis Ensure the capex process regarding correct approval is followed at all times Discover suppliers & initiate business & organisational partnerships Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms Collaborate with management to ensure clarity of specifications & expectations of business goals Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data & prepare appropriate control strategies Perform risk management for supply contracts & agreements Control spend & help build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs Financial Administration Maintain a system of processing purchase orders and invoices Approval and coding of invoices in a timely manner Review current processes and suggest improvements Key Criteria: Prior experience in Procurement / Purchasing Experience in Construction (Preferably Commercial Construction) Business Administration degree advantageous, however not essential Excellent negotiating & networking skills Computer literacy, with experience collating & managing data Knowledge of sourcing & procurement techniques Excellent written & verbal communication skills Excellent time management & organisational skills Positive & pro-active attitude Please note: The successful candidate must have the right to work in Australia and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination and criminal background check where required.
