Job Description The Role: The Department is seeking to engage a suitable candidate to fill a Release Train Engineer (RTE) role. The RTE will take the role of servant leader and an Agile Release Train (ART) coach and will work closely with the program Solution Train Engineer (STE) and Program Delivery Managers. Key duties and responsibilities Contribute to and facilitate ART events and processes to support our teams in delivering value. Communicate with stakeholders at all levels of seniority. Escalate and manage risks, issues and dependencies. Manage and optimize the flow of value and drive relentless improvements. Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) practices and Program Increment (PI) execution. Support the adaptation of SAFeĀ® to the Departments needs, standardising and documenting practices. Utilise relationship management skills to form and maintain positive working relationships across the Program. Contribute to reporting artefacts in line with required cadences. Skills and Experience Required: 1. Previous and evidenced experience and skills as a Release Train Engineer. 2. A strong understanding of the SAFeĀ® methodology, and its application within a large and complex Program within a government context. 3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and negotiate with a range of stakeholders and audiences. 4. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues to achieve outcomes. 5. Experience effectively managing competing priorities and strategic directions, with an ability to remain calm under pressure and respond flexibly to change and uncertainty. 6. Proven ability to act with discretion and integrity in managing sensitive information. Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Canberra with Hybrid working arrangements considered . 12 month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
