Summary: We are seeking a technical, skilled and detail-oriented Senior Engineering Planner to join our team, reporting directly into the General Manager – Engineering! The incumbent will support the Engineering department in all areas related to Planning, Procurement, and Work Order Management. This role involves managing and coordinating with remote support teams and working closely with the Engineering Planner to ensure maintenance activities are scoped, approved, planned, and packaged within agreed budgetary limits for the terminal. The Senior Engineering Planner will take ownership, work autonomously, and have a deep understanding of planned preventive maintenance principles and reliability-centred maintenance techniques. Responsibilities: Assist in the creation of daily, weekly, and long-term plans, including scheduling and attending meetings to collaborate with operations and engineering teams. Communicate with existing, new, and prospective suppliers to establish beneficial purchasing agreements. Supervise remote support teams and provide regular progress updates. Generate purchase orders through MRP systems or Ariba to meet demand and forecasted needs. Review MRP and safety stock levels in the MM SAP inventory management system. Compile and coordinate key performance indicators accurately and within agreed deadlines. Oversee the delivery and shipment of parts and equipment, including liaising with shipping companies, packing, and tracking shipment progress. Assist in managing the Planned Maintenance (PM) work order system in SAP EAMS, including creating or modifying new PMs. Produce planned work schedules and communicate to all relevant parties. Ensure work order completion rates and workforce utilisation are maintained at acceptable levels. Liaise with Maintenance and Operations departments to review the status of planned work, PM backlogs, and their relative priorities, shipping plans, labour, parts, and resourcing issues to prepare schedules for forward planning. Scope work orders; estimate/manage labour resources and parts required. Coordinate with external contractors in the planning stages to ensure adequate resourcing for scheduled maintenance works. Continuously seek to improve processes and suggest productivity enhancements. Experience & Qualifications: Desirable: A qualification in Logistics or Planning. A technical or mechanical background is highly advantageous. Extensive knowledge of purchasing processes, RFQ, and Tenders. Ability to collate data and produce detailed reports. Attention to detail to keep records up-to-date. Experience with ERP/MRP SAP Inventory Management software. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft Project. Demonstrated track record in a heavy industry maintenance role. Trade qualified in mechanical, electrical, or engineering background. Extensive knowledge in reliability-centred maintenance techniques. Experience in building a safety culture and promoting safety practices.
