Research and Development Engineer — Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane

Reporting to the Manager, Research and Development, on a 24-month contract, you will join a diverse group of experienced engineers and scientists to progress research and development projects for new and existing products within the division. You will get to learn and gain experience in a company with a long history of providing quality, innovative products to patients across the globe. Actively contribute to new product development within the R&D department. Provide a disciplined approach to product development engineering through the application of rigorous engineering and risk management principles. Coordinate and/or research engineering activities for a delegated project and conduct ongoing assessments of the project’s technical risks. Liaise with the project leader to agree on project priorities and provide regular feedback on progress. Liaise with all functional departments as needed to ensure timely delivery of project milestones to a high quality. Contribute to identification and implementation of strategies for continuous improvement. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: Professional Engineering Qualifications essential. Medical/Mechanical Engineering preferred. Similar Engineering experience from a highly regulated industry (Medical Device industry experience preferred). Knowledge and experience in the application of Medical Device Design Controls. Project management skills preferred. Ability to critically think – to encourage innovation and continuous improvement. Personal accountability with a results-orientated focus.
