Project Applications Engineer — Carrum Downs, Frankston Area

Description NOV Australia is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our Melbourne-based Projects Team. In this role, you will play a key part in the successful execution of projects involving progressive cavity pumps and mixers. You will be responsible for managing projects from tender through to final delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to customer expectations. Review and understanding of client specs and project requirements, creating/modifying technical documentation, managing the finances and careful management of all technical and planning aspects of a project are all key tasks for this role. As part of the application side, you will need to select suitable pumps and mixers using our selection tools and compiling a complex tender to suit our high-level clients. The role will need to assist the Engineering department with technical requirements for design purposes, create documents for submission to clients, provide technical support for other parts of the business and ensure that the designed/offered solution does meet the customer requirements. Communication skills are required to liaise with other departments in the business including the Sales team, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Production. The position will also require communicating with international clients regarding technical clarifications and design. To be successful you will have an Engineering Degree and preferably experience in a similar role with at least 5 years’ experience, Knowledge, understanding and experience in industries such as Petrochemical, wastewater and Mining would be preferred. Reading and understanding of complex Customer specifications is necessary. You will need to have excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs and functions at once. The successful candidate must have a high level of attention to detail as this is extremely critical to the success of this role. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Reviewing and understanding commercial and technical proposals prior to accepting an order. Reviewing, creating, modifying technical documentation. Managing all aspects of a project through all departments in the business to ensure a successful delivery. Utilizing project management tools to track a projects progress and budget. Perform such other duties, relevant to the position, as may be necessary. Timely review of projects requirements. Documentation creation and turn around. Project schedule management. Project budget management. Effective execution of a project to delivery. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS Engineering Degree. Project Management Certification (preferred). JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 5 years’ experience in a similar role. BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES Effective communication with internal stakeholders and customers. Time management. Project planning.
