School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Full-time permanent position Base salary will be in the range $80,523.29 - $89,505.38 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5) Based at our picturesque and vibrant St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and organised Student and Academic Administration Officer in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to provide high quality customer service through the delivery of friendly, helpful, accurate, and informative advice and services to students, professional and academic staff. Working in a team environment, this position is responsible for completing a diverse range of administrative processing tasks and associated day-to-day problem resolution and maintenance of administrative systems in support of the teaching and learning activities of the school. Key responsibilities will include: Provide timely and accurate information to students, staff and other stakeholders within the University policies and procedures framework, guidelines and relevant legislation. Undertake student administration tasks including but not limited to processing requests for late enrolment, extension requests, deferred examination and remark. Provide secretarial services to School Committees as required and other student and staff meetings, including preparation of agendas and minutes, draft reports and submissions and take other action as required on behalf of the Chair. Maintain School records, procedures and other internal databases. Assist with the implementation and review of strategies and work practices which will improve workflow, efficiency and effectiveness of Student Administration. Sound knowledge and understanding of administrative processes related to student and academic administration or previous relevant experience which demonstrates the capacity to rapidly acquire and apply such knowledge in line with University policy and procedure Proven ability to work effectively in both a team environment, and independently with a customer service focus, as well as the ability to organize and prioritise workload to meet regular and conflicting deadlines. High level of written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including students, co-workers, and senior staff of the University. Proven ability to identify problems and propose innovative solutions using initiative and sound judgement. Demonstrated computer literacy skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy. Experience working in an area of student or academic administration in a university or other educational provider would be highly regarded The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
