Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Academic Services, you'll support faculty and school staff, offering expert training and guidance on systems, processes, and student-related matters. You’ll also play a key advisory role, working closely with senior academic leaders to provide strategic insights into complex student and policy issues, while contributing to the ongoing development of academic programs. Key responsibilities will include: Staff Management: Lead and manage a high-performing Student and Academic Administration Support team, providing expert advice and guidance to staff, overseeing daily operations, delegating tasks effectively, and ensuring the consistent achievement of team goals and deliverables. Drive staff development and performance excellence by coordinating training, facilitating professional growth, supporting goal setting, managing performance appraisals, and ensuring all team and school-based staff are well-equipped in student administration, academic processes, policies, and systems. Student and Academic Administration : Provide high-level expert advice and strategic support to the Senior Manager, Academic Services, the Associate Dean (Academic), and Faculty staff on complex student and academic matters. This includes interpreting and applying University and national policies, legislation, and governance frameworks across admissions, enrolments, program compliance (AQF), grievances, examinations, and curriculum processes. Lead the development and implementation of best practice strategies to ensure consistent, policy-aligned academic administration across Schools and Centres. Oversee the coordination and delivery of student and academic administration activities, managing key operational processes such as enrolment, orientation, examinations, graduation, and government reporting. Ensure effective communication and information management across the Faculty, support high-quality student advice services, maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, and represent the Faculty on University committees and at events as required. Highly developed leadership and management skills and the ability to manage staff in a service-orientated environment. Substantial, demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of university rules, policies and procedures relating to student and academic administration including student admission, enrolment, examination, and graduation. Desirable Experience in participating on university committees. Demonstrated capacity for identification and analysis of issues, innovative problem solving and improvement of administrative systems and procedures. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills including analysing information and data critically, and report writing. Highly developed interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills needed to develop and maintain strong working relationships within the Faculty, and the wider University community. Demonstrated high level organisational ability, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities. Proven capacity to deliver high quality customer service in a fast paced and high-volume office environment.
