Location: Darwin or remote (will inital stay in Darwin until confortable with skillset and delivery) PowerData Group Consulting is seeking a Midrange Senior Systems Administrator to support the enterprise server environment. This is a contract position primarily located in Darwin , though remote work may be considered following an initial onsite period to establish familiarity with systems and expectations. The role sits within the Midrange Services team of 25 specialists and supports critical infrastructure including Microsoft and Linux servers , VMWare virtualisation , enterprise storage , and backup and hosting service Key Responsibilities Design and implement virtualised infrastructure solutions for both client and internal use Deliver server environments for business applications Develop automation for VM provisioning and day-to-day operations Perform systems administration across Windows Server and RedHat Linux stacks Manage VMWare , enterprise storage , backup and recovery , and replication technologies Administer SQL Server , MySQL/MariaDB , and PKI infrastructure Configure and manage Active Directory , IIS , Apache , and web deployments Administer Azure resources , with experience in F5 BIG-IP considered a bonus Support clients via ticketing system; ensure documentation, incident resolution, and capacity planning Uphold security standards , participate in on-call roster, and provide project input when needed Essential Skills Ability to work independently under broad direction Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking Experience with ITIL frameworks and ticketing systems Strong communication and documentation abilities Proven ability to mentor peers and lead by example Creative and focused on continuous improvement Technical Certifications (Highly Regarded) VMWare certification Microsoft Windows Server certification Linux server technology certification Microsoft Azure certification Preferred Experience Working knowledge of SAN storage allocation Experience in midrange application hosting environments Contract Notes Preference for Darwin-based candidates but remote options available after an initial period On-call support participation is required Applicants must respond to all mandatory selection questions for assessment If you’re an experienced SysAdmin with enterprise-level skills across virtualisation, servers, and infrastructure — and are keen to contribute to a team powering government-critical applications — this is a significant opportunity .
