The Opportunity Our Port Kembla-Springhill Manufacturing facility is looking for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer in our Coupled Pickled Cold Mill (CPCM) team based in Port Kembla . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers. The CPCM is a highly automated processing line that uses a blend of old and new technology. The CPCM is toward the end of the steel-making process with the primary purpose of strip thickness reduction in preparation for the downstream steel coating processes. As the Reliability Engineer, you will encourage continuous improvement, provide strategic problem solving and planning of the Exit/Mill equipment whilst ensuring value and compliance for the CPCM. What Will You Do? Managing and developing the maintenance strategies of the overall mechanical plant, you’ll drive continuous improvement and reliability of mechanical assets within the department. You will also: ensuring safety standards are never compromised making suitable changes when risks and opportunities are identified provide technical support, investigate, fault find, and problem solve long term/systemic equipment issues to eliminate potential causes to determine the root cause and develop subsequent corrective actions provide strategic engineering leadership in the operation and maintenance of high precision mechanical and mechanised equipment. ensure alignment of maintenance activities to support the business including budget management and effective and compliant maintenance documentation plan, coordinate and execute major and minor projects as required including multi trade discipline works for equipment improvement projects coach & mentor Asset team members by identifying and closing technical knowledge gaps More About You As an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, you quickly adapt and have an eagerness to learn.
