Embedded Firmware Engineer — Melbourne, Melbourne Region

We’re currently working with a fast-growing global tech innovator that’s building cutting-edge platforms across smart homes, enterprise IT, and connectivity. With over 100 million devices shipped worldwide, they’re scaling up their engineering team and on the lookout for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to help shape the future of their home entertainment product line. What you’ll be doing: You’ll be part of a tight-knit engineering team building high-performance firmware for embedded systems powering smart home entertainment products. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll: Develop and optimise firmware to create best-in-class user experiences Support hardware testing and diagnostics for various embedded devices Collaborate with hardware and software engineers for seamless system integration Conduct debugging, profiling, and performance testing to ensure stability and quality What they're looking for: Solid experience with embedded firmware development using C/C++ Exposure to embedded Linux, RTOS, and system-level debugging Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, QoS, Multicast) Hands-on knowledge of AES67, RTP, PTP, and Audio-over-IP protocols Familiarity with clock synchronisation and jitter management in IP audio networks Strong team player who enjoys solving technical challenges in fast-paced environments BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent Bonus points for: Experience building firmware for real-time audio streaming over IP Familiarity with real-time streaming protocols Why you’ll love it here: Work with talented global engineering teams Great office perks – snacks, drinks, and a collaborative culture Competitive salary, flexible working arrangements, and strong health benefits
