Senior Procurement Officer - Building and Construction — Brisbane, Brisbane Region

Initial one year contract with a potential year long extension based on performance. Attractive hourly pay rate of $110.25/hr super Work Location: Brisbane PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: As the Senior Procurement Officer, you will work as part of a team that provides high quality procurement advice and services to the branch. You will be reporting to the Principal Procurement Officer, Building, Construction and Maintenance (BCM). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and deliver high quality procurement advice and services covering; procurement planning activities, sourcing documentation development, release and evaluation processes and contract negotiation, formation, management and administration activities. Maintain a detailed documentary record of procurement processes, decisions and contractual arrangements undertaken ensuring the audit trail is adequately maintained and documented for probity, accountability and audit purposes. Contribute to the development, implementation and review of procurement systems, strategies, policies and processes consistent with the requirements of the Queensland Procurement Policy and procurement best practice. Research and prepare submissions, reports, briefing materials and correspondence and provide expert analysis and advice to senior management on matters relating to the procurement function. Contribute to a high level of professional practice including provision of training by maintaining a sound knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies and practices and an awareness of Government priorities and initiatives that have implications for the procurement function. Assist with the preparation and implementation of the Branch’s operational plans, budgets, key performance measures and reporting requirements. Represent the branch in dealings with other agencies and whole of Government forums relating to the procurement function, including building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Strong procurement experience in Building, Construction and Facilities Maintenance. Deep understanding of public sector procurement frameworks Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
