Project Engineer — Smithtown, Kempsey Area

YOUR ROLE Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to support and deliver capital projects and process improvements at their high-performing Smithtown factory – home to some of Australia’s most-loved brands. This 12-month fixed-term contract role is ideal for an early to mid-career engineer ready to make a tangible impact within a supportive, fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll manage end-to-end project execution, from design and budgeting to installation and commissioning, while driving efficiency, quality, and safety outcomes. Your responsibilities will include: Lead and support capital investment projects through the full project lifecycle Conduct site analysis for utilities, equipment, and factory layout improvements Oversee installation of equipment, ensuring safety, budget, and scope compliance Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers Maintain technical documentation and site drawings Ensure compliance with company standards, WHS, GMP, HACCP, and engineering codes Support smooth handover to operations post-commissioning IS THIS YOU???? You're a driven, hands-on engineer who thrives on solving problems and delivering results. You’re technically savvy, proactive, and confident, engaging with multiple stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you'll have: Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechatronics Engineering Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering role (FMCG or food manufacturing preferred) Strong project management, planning, and budgeting skills Sound knowledge of processing equipment, utilities, automation & safety design Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, WHS, and engineering regulations Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities Benefits & Culture This is an exciting opportunity to join a company known for its innovation, quality, and supportive team culture.
