Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Projects team based in Perth on a Monday – Friday basis. In this role, the Mechanical Engineer will lead all technical activities on assigned projects. The position is responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating all assigned engineering work and monitoring works for compliance with applicable codes and accepted engineering practices. Responsibilities: Work closely with the Management team and project scheduler to streamline the schedule and coordinate engineering activities. Supervise and manage subcontractors concerning all technical/quality/contractual matters. Assist with preparing quotations utilising supplier information, cost standards, and technical information from quality, manufacturing engineering, and design. Assist with the compilation and administration of project variations. Assists with coordinating pricing, estimating, and scoping strategies for proposed projects and developing and preparing technical specifications. Assists with preparing designs, drawings, plans, and specifications for projects, engineered systems, technical equipment, or components. Review drawings to identify problems, recommend solutions, and take preventive steps for correction. Participating in Client/Contractor meetings and resolving Client/engineering and technical issues. Attends project meetings and provides technical and engineering support to the project team. Provide technical support to supervisors, subcontractors and all site personnel. Raise technical queries as necessary. Coordinate the collection and dissemination of technical information between/within the company, other contractors and clients. Provide risk assessments for construction activities. Perform other organisational duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements. Take responsibility for your safety, uphold the Company OHS&E policies and participate in Company OHS&E initiatives Performance Metrics Achievement of project target performance in safety, environmental, time, quality, cost and Human Resources Accurate and timely reporting of project performance measures Development and maintenance of working relationships with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers Willingness to provide suggestions for improvement and assist in other aspects of the business when required Site maintained in a safe manner Up-to-date and accurate QA documentation Timely and accurate project reporting Timely and accurately prepared short-term programs Accurate and timely prepared TQ’s, NOD’s and EOT’s Achievement of agreed milestones Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical engineering Strong knowledge of Mechanical system design, commissioning, and fault analysis. Experience in managing projects and working with multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders. Proficient in engineering software and tools Experience in Mining Projects is a plus Knowledge of electrical safety standards and codes is essential Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
