We are now seeking a passionate and skilled Child Care Centre Cook to join our collaborative team at the heart of our organisation. Description As a Child Care Centre Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing nutritious and appealing meals for children aged from 6 weeks to 6 years. Your responsibilities will include meal planning and market shopping, food preparation, maintaining kitchen safety and hygiene, and adhering to dietary restrictions and guidelines. You will work collaboratively with our educators and community partners to ensure a comfortable and inviting mealtime atmosphere. Key Responsibilities Meal Preparation: Plan, shop for and prepare healthy, balanced meals that cater to individual dietary needs, allergies, and cultural requirements. Undertake weekly market shopping therefore a current drivers license and use of own vehicle is required. Kitchen Management: Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with Australian Food Safety Standards. Team Collaboration: Work closely with educators and community members to promote healthy eating practices and support educational programs. Communication: Develop respectful relationships with children, families, and staff, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Food Safety: Implement and maintain food safety practices, including record-keeping and compliance with regulatory audits. Qualifications Qualifications: Accredited training in Food Safety/Handling is essential. A Certificate in Commercial Cookery or relevant experience in childcare cooking is highly regarded. Experience: Proven experience in catering for young children, including special dietary needs. WWC & National Police Check: Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check number is required. First Aid Certificate: Current First Aid Certificate relevant to the role. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in English.
