IGT is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of gaming products and systems. IGT Australia provides a range of gaming products, systems and services to Club, Hotel and Casino industries. IGT is searching for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Operations team in Ermington, NSW. In this role, the successful candidate's primary objectives include auditing, inspecting, reviewing, and investigating materials made to IGT specifications, and lead the resolution and prevention of nonconforming materials throughout IGT and/or with suppliers. Responsibilities: Investigate all product defects on production line Report all product quality issues utilising quality issue reporting & resolution software (JIRA System) Attend & contribute to JIRA fortnightly meetings with Reno Global Quality department Develop & maintain monthly report on quality results Manage the Quality Quarantine warehouse stock and provide recommendations Actively reduce the level of rejected stock in Quality Quarantine via product improvements through JIRA Liaise with internal departments & share Quality product information Assist Engineering & Service Departments when required Implement an effective traceability procedure for repair of defective production components Perform random inward good's quality inspections Maintain work instructions for production line for unique elements of Australian operation when required Maintain & expand Quality library for APAC quality documentation Assist production with equipment preventative maintenance & calibration requirements to comply with ISO9001 requirements Maintain and update Hazard Materials register for Ermington site Drives suppliers to identify appropriate quality assurance systems that will ensure receipt for defect free components/materials In concert with engineering, manufacturing, and quality, develops and defines inspection criteria for workmanship and cosmetic defects and communicates those criteria and expectations to suppliers Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices and quality standards are met Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation Develops quality metrics to evaluate and improve supplier performance Qualifies suppliers according to IGT standards Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur Supports new product development process as necessary; supports/coordinates design review process between manufacturing suppliers Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience Skills & Attributes Excellent comprehension and verbal communication skills Attention to quality and detail with proven excellent levels of accuracy Proven ability to interact in a positive manner with co-workers Physical fitness to be able to undertake manual handling tasks within safety guidelines Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment Good computer literacy with the ability to learn new programs quickly Problem solving, root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, 8D analysis) Experience Has advanced in-depth knowledge of/skills in the content areas of: Electrical and mechanical part functions Proper use of full range of applicable test equipment and documentation of test results Effective communication Organization/project management Quality Management Systems (ISO9000) Manufacturing process for sheet metal fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly and PCB contract manufacturing If you feel you possess the necessary attributes for this permanent full-time opportunity please send cover letter and resume to [email protected]
