Rarely offered Engineering role in FMCG/Manufacturing Great team and Work Life Balance About the role We are excited to welcome a qualified Engineer with a manufacturing/FMCG background to our amazing Somersby site to optimize and improve manufacturing processes and systems. In this NEWLY CREATED ROLE , you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. Reporting to the Site Manager (who is easy-going, loves a banter and is keen to support your career development), you will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and support continuous process enhancements. This includes teams from Maintenance, Operations, NPD, Sales and Demand Planning. We are passionate about Continuous Improvement, and this is a fantastic time to join our team and continue our Operational Excellence journey! Your functional responsibilities will include : Analyse, design, and improve production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Monitor process performance and implement changes to enhance productivity and quality. Develop process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Perform root cause analysis and problem-solving for production issues and quality concerns. Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Maintenance teams to support new product development and process scale-up. Lead and participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Provide technical support and training to production staff. What will help you succeed Your attitude! Sounds levels of Excel to analyse reports and power BI. Sound exposure to product costings, understanding structures and drivers to identify areas for improvement. Key skills that we would love you to have: Proficiency in CAD software and data analysis tools Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Proven ability to manage projects with a tangible outcome including creation of SOP's and process documentation Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proven ability as a natural leader with excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities. You have a positive demeanour and have yet to meet a problem you couldn't solve! Why join us?
