Business Support Officer - Travel Consultant - Full-time, Part-time & Casual — Cooroy, Noosa Area

About the Role You’ll be responsible for the coordination of all employee travel – from flights and accommodation to vehicle hire and visas. You’ll be supporting the movement of pilots, engineers, and crew to our operational bases across Australia and overseas. This role requires adaptability, initiative, and the ability to handle shifting priorities at short notice. It’s fast, busy, and critical to keeping our business moving. We are looking for Full-time, Part-time and Casual employees. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate end-to-end domestic and international travel bookings (airfares, accommodation, ground transport) • Manage scheduling and availability of internal crew accommodation and rental properties • Arrange hire vehicles and manage fleet allocation for crew use • Organise travel and accommodation for business meetings, training, and conferences • Liaise with staff and external agencies to prepare and submit visa and travel documentation • Liaise with internal departments to ensure crew travel arrangements meet rostering requirements and internal budgets • Maintain accurate travel records, reporting, and internal databases • Monitor and update flight changes, delays, and staff movements in real time • Provide administrative support as required • Provide on-call support for travel-related issues after hours and on weekends (as part of a shared roster) What We're Looking For • Prior experience in travel coordination, travel consultancy, logistics or similar • Certificate or diploma in Travel and Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable but not essential • Familiarity with GDS systems and booking engines (e.g., Galileo, Amadeus, or Sabre) preferred but not essential • Strong time management and prioritisation skills • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills • A clear communicator, especially under time-sensitive conditions • Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion • Competence in Microsoft Office and data entry systems • A proactive, solution-focused mindset with a high level of initiative • Previous experience coordinating FIFO workforce travel or working in aviation/emergency services is highly regarded, but we welcome applications from candidates with strong organisational skills and a willingness to learn Why Join McDermott Aviation? • Be Part of a Critical Operation: Support crews who are fighting fires, conducting search and rescue, and performing remote operations across Australia. • Unique Industry Exposure: Gain experience in aviation logistics and international workforce coordination. • Beautiful Location: Enjoy the lifestyle benefits of being based on the Sunshine Coast in Cooroy, QLD.
