About the Role As the Engineering Services Manager , you will lead the delivery of Engineering Services within the Future Clothing System program, ensuring all ADF uniforms are correctly specified, fully compliant, and meet or exceed quality standards. You will manage the Design, Technical, and Quality teams, oversee the Contract Engineering Management Plan, drive continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with contract requirements, critical path milestones, and industry standards. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for engineering governance, technical decision-making, risk management, and supplier engagement to support the delivery of best-in-class uniform products for the ADF. What you’ll be doing Deliver Engineering Services efficiently, minimising costs and optimising product design, development, testing, and issue resolution timelines. Own and manage the Contract Engineering Management Plan, ensuring adherence to engineering methodologies and contractual requirements. Establish and maintain systems, processes, and structures to deliver all engineering activities aligned with project milestones. Lead and manage the Design, Technical, and Quality teams, including performance management, team development, engagement reviews, and succession planning. Set and maintain quality assurance and control strategies and policies across all products. Ensure all ADF products meet or exceed relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer expectations. Perform periodic risk assessments, promoting a proactive risk mitigation culture. Represent WWG on the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and manage technical change approvals and minor change authorisations. Oversee supplier relationships to ensure technical readiness for production execution. Ensure compliance with relevant clauses of the EIA:632 standard and maintain WWG’s Engineering Services process leadership. Present performance reporting internally and externally in line with contractual KPIs. Lead continuous improvement initiatives for Engineering Services, collaborating across functions to drive operational excellence. What we’re looking for You are a highly experienced and technically skilled leader with a strong background in engineering management, quality assurance, and technical governance. You thrive in high-performance environments and bring a solutions-focused, team-oriented leadership style. You will ideally have: 8–10 years’ experience in technical, engineering, and/or quality management leadership roles. Strong experience with engineering standards and frameworks (EIA:632 process knowledge highly desirable). Experience working with Engineering Information Systems (EIS) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (desirable). Expertise in quality control, quality assurance strategies, and regulatory compliance. Proven ability to deliver engineering services within complex, contract-driven environments. Strong project management skills and experience managing cross-functional technical teams. Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 accreditation processes (desirable). Connection with key industry bodies e.g. Chartered Engineering or Textile Institutions, Testing Facilities, Standards Australia and Australian Fashion Council (preferred). Degree or tertiary education in Product Design, Textile Technology, Manufacturing or Engineering (preferred). Personal Attributes Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
