What you'll do You'll bring your deep expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem to LEAP's IT team who manage LEAP's global internal network. As the Senior Systems Engineer you will design, implement, maintain, and secure our Microsoft-based infrastructure. There will be two parts to your role - managing third level escalations from internal LEAP employees, and project work that continuously enhances the IT function. To make this happen, you will look after: Administration & Maintenance Manage and maintain core Microsoft systems, including Exchange, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams. Administer and optimize Azure environments, including Entra ID and Azure Virtual Desktops. Oversee configuration and management of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), and Defender for Endpoint. Working alongside the LEAP Network administrator in the administration of Aruba Access Points, Fortinet switches, and firewalls. Automation & Scripting Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automated workflows for system tasks, deployments, and monitoring. Monitoring & Performance Implement and fine-tune monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics). Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and potential issues before they impact operations. Security & Compliance Ensure systems are hardened, patched, and compliant with security best practices and regulatory requirements. Support implementation of identity and access management policies, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access. Microsoft Purview Collaboration & Support Work closely with developers, network engineers, and other IT team members to support and enhance the infrastructure. Act as an escalation point for complex system and application issues. Documentation & Planning Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures. Contribute to IT strategy and capacity planning, with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery. What you'll bring You have 5 years of experience in a senior systems administration role, with a focus on Microsoft technologies, and your technical skillset will include: Proven expertise in: Windows Server (2019/2022) Active Directory & Group Policy Microsoft 365 administration Azure IaaS & PaaS services PowerShell scripting and automation Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop setup. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls). Strong hands-on experience with: Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate) – setup, policy management, VPN, logging Fortinet switches – VLANs, link aggregation, access control FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer You are the type of person who Has a proactive mindset – you anticipate issues and take initiative to resolve them.
