VCE Vocational Major & Pathway Teacher — Plenty, Nillumbik Area

We are seeking a passionate and experienced secondary teacher to join a dedicated and supportive team delivering the VCE Vocational Major and Victorian Pathways Certificate. This full-time, ongoing position is based at a well-regarded independent Special Assistance School located in Melbourne's northern suburbs. Many students present with complex needs, and we're looking for a teacher who is confident, compassionate, and able to manage challenging behaviours with care, consistency and professionalism. The Role: This position will see you teaching an applied and integrated curriculum focused on the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) and Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC). You will play a key role in fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment that empowers students to re-engage in learning and work toward their individual goals. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with VCE VM and VPC Support student wellbeing and learning through trauma-informed practice Work collaboratively with wellbeing staff and allied professionals Monitor and report on student progress and outcomes Ensure compliance with school, VCAA and VRQA requirements Participate in ongoing professional development About You We are looking for a strong and experienced teacher who: Builds respectful, trusting relationships with students Demonstrates excellent classroom management and relational skills Has experience teaching applied or alternative senior curriculum (VCE VM, VPC, VCAL or similar) Understands trauma-informed and restorative approaches Is collaborative and thrives as part of a multidisciplinary team Essential Requirements Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) Current VIT registration Proven experience working with at-risk or disengaged students Desirable Cert IV in Training and Assessment Postgraduate studies in Special Education, Youth Work, Psychology or similar Experience with compliance and reporting in alternative education settings This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people.
