About the role We have exciting opportunities for values-driven and proactive Casual AOD Support Workers to provide supervision, support, and crisis intervention to women and children participants at Bridgehaven and to help maintain the functioning of the centre. We have multiple casual positions available. The position will require you to work across a number of shifts, including day shift, afternoon shift and sleepover shifts. You will successfully Protect the safety and wellbeing of all participants by monitoring and managing the dynamics of participants to provide a safe and positive environment for all Ensure new participants are inducted into the Bridgehaven program, ensuring a positive and engaging first experience with the program Respond to all resident enquiries Actively participates in daily handovers and liaises with other staff as necessary to ensure required participant information is communicated Ensure participant and staff security by responding to critical incidents and security concerns, as per policy and procedure Ensure all electronic records are maintained and up to date Provide “hands on” practical support to participants to enhance living skills Manage participants behaviour in line with the program policies Assist with self-administration of medications for all participants Identify and respond to any likelihood or evidence of significant harm to participants or others; informing the line manager as soon as possible Participate in group facilitation Transport and support participants with external appointments. Organise a range of appropriate enjoyable social activities to ensure participants remain actively engaged This is a casual position based in Bridgehaven, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4. You will have Certificate IV (or equivalent) in the application of AOD interventions and/or the four competencies required to work within the AOD Sector P revious experience in a similar role Understanding of trauma informed care in a residential setting First Aid Certificate A current VIC Drivers Licence Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia We are committed to providing a safe environment for our people.
